Thanks to a few strategically placed nails, we finally got our small guest bedroom frame project up on that blank wall. We were pleased with the result:

But once the final frame was hung, we both felt the display needed more. So we made a quick trip to Target and picked up a few additional frames to expand the arrangement.
Back home, Sherry barely waited for me to set down my keys before she had four new frames artfully arranged on the wall. (She later confessed to a little trial-and-error while finding the best spots, which left a couple of tiny test nail holes behind the frames.) The extra frames really improved the overall look.

For the new additions, we stuck with the “history” theme established by the vintage Richmond map and filled the frames with old family photos. Here’s a closer look:

The two 8×10 frames hold baby portraits of Sherry and me—both captured with wide-open, expressive mouths. One of the 5×7 frames shows my mom walking my chubby baby self along the beach, and the other contains a striking black-and-white photo of Sherry’s dad from 1964.
We love how the gallery wall is growing. Now both of us are eager to gradually fill the entire wall, so expect more updates as we continue adding frames and memories.
