I’m popping in with a bit of a plant emergency. Apologies for the poor phone photo — I didn’t have time for better shots today, so this will have to do for now.
Back to reality after that beautiful cottage farmhouse post, but right now my concern is my plant: my fiddle leaf fig.

You might remember when I first shared this fiddle leaf fig — it had a few brown edges and you all gave great suggestions. I thought I must have been overwatering, so I cut back on watering.
For a while things seemed to improve. New bright green leaves appeared and I imagined the plant growing bigger and healthier. Then recently more problems showed up: brown edges returned, stems turned brownish, and leaves started dropping to the floor.
It’s alarming — I feel like I’m killing it. I’m unsure whether it needs more light, more water, or something else entirely. I had reduced watering because I believed overwatering was the issue, but now I wonder if I’ve swung too far the other way and underwatered it.
It’s frustrating when you care for plants and they still struggle. I’m looking for practical steps to stabilize the fiddle leaf fig: how to assess whether light, water, pests, or root issues are to blame, and what immediate changes to make that are gentle and likely to help rather than cause further shock.
