Do you love rooms decorated with red? Red can be bold and dramatic or soft and welcoming, depending on the shade and how it’s paired with other colors. I’m not sure if red is as widely used now as it felt a few years ago, but seeing it in the right space always stops me in my tracks. I’d love to know what color schemes you use in your home—do you reach for red often?
This past weekend I visited an open house where a cheerful red was used as an accent throughout. It reminded me how versatile the color is: in some rooms red feels bright and summery, while in others it makes the space feel extra warm and cozy. The effect depends on the tone of red and whether it’s used in small accents or larger swaths.
I’m a fan of open houses—they’re a fun way to study real interiors and see how colors, textures, and furniture layouts work in lived-in spaces. Walking through charming homes I’ve only driven past is such a simple pleasure. Anyone else enjoy that as much as I do?
Enjoy the inspiration from these rooms decorated with red. Which one is your favorite?
