How to Give Yourself Grace at Home — Guest Post for Ann Voskamp

Love the Home You Have - The Inspired Room blog

You’ve probably heard that our home should reflect who we are and what we love.

That’s wonderful when we like what we see.

But what if the reflection makes us uncomfortable? Gasp!

What if our home whispers that we’re overwhelmed by clutter and could use some change? Gulp!

Who enjoys that truth?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

You can read more about how I view home as a reflection of who we are in a guest post I wrote for my friend Ann Voskamp’s blog.

Ann and I met at a conference several years ago. I remember it was one of her first speaking events after her book A Thousand Gifts was published. She was understandably nervous, and I felt intimidated to meet her, but she immediately put me at ease.

Ann has a way of making you feel seen and important, even at a first meeting. We connected over our shared introversion and quickly became friends. Her encouragement was invaluable while I was writing my book — I truly believe I might not have finished it without her gentle insistence that I could. I’m grateful for the chance to share an excerpt from my book on her site.

You can find the post on her blog.

PS. Notice the charming glimpses of Ann’s farmhouse kitchen in the photos included in the post — they’re a lovely touch.
