Thanks to everyone who stopped by on Saturday to check out my kitchen update. The remodel made real progress this weekend—drywall went up—and I’m feeling hopeful that I’ll have more before-and-after moments to share soon. Even though the renovation is messy, I’m trying to stay excited about Christmas and enjoy the season as it approaches.
As I’ve mentioned often, we expect to have a new front door by Christmas (fingers crossed it arrives even sooner). I try not to count on perfect timing, but having the new door installed and already painted would be a dream—especially because it would be ready for a wreath right away.
Even if your front door isn’t one of the picture-perfect styles in these photos, adding a little greenery or a simple decoration can instantly lift the entryway and welcome the season. A few thoughtful touches make a big difference, whether your door is classic or modest. Here are some inspiring ideas to help you decorate your entry:

Whether your look is rustic, modern, or classic, start with a focal point such as a wreath, a garland around the frame, or a pair of matching planters. Mix textures—evergreen branches, pinecones, ribbon, and simple lights—to create depth without overwhelming the entry. For a budget-friendly option, DIY garlands and simple arrangements can feel high-end when grouped thoughtfully.
I’m clearly excited about my new door, but if it doesn’t arrive in time I’ll happily decorate the existing one. Creating a welcoming front entry is one of my favorite parts of the season—I even put up icicle lights already and I’m on a roll.
