Before
When Amanda from Everyday Elements told me about her plan to completely redecorate her home office, I was excited to follow along. As I mentioned in my 2011 Home Goals, this year I’m focused on making my home both beautiful and functional — and that’s Amanda’s aim for her office as well. Since many of us dream of a dedicated, inspiring space to create, write, read, or work, I thought it would be fun to document Amanda’s home office makeover here.
I invited her to share the project with us. She’ll do the room herself while I and other readers enjoy the transformation. This is intended to be a relatively quick update — Amanda hopes to complete the makeover within a couple of weeks, so we’ll get to watch the room evolve in real time. (Unlike my typical projects that seem to take forever!)
ROOM MAKEOVER DETAILS:
Budget: $1,000
Goal: To create a modern-traditional home office that supports both business work and relaxed conversation — a place where she can invite friends, put her feet up, and read. The space should feel like a sanctuary while remaining fully functional.
Rough Deadline: End of April
Insider tip: she might be visiting IKEA this weekend and plans to share photos. I can’t wait to see how the space changes from these before photos into an inviting, livable home office. I’ll post updates here as the project progresses.
Here is Amanda’s home office REVEAL!
I also want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and encouraging comments on my post yesterday. Your kindness moved me to tears and reminded me how special it is to be part of a caring community. Thank you — your words energized and encouraged me more than you know.
