Each week on our Inspired Room Style Instagram (and on TIR and the blog) we highlight classic and current home decor finds to help followers decorate affordably and with ease.
A few months ago we began a new monthly series here on the blog that rounds up the previous month’s most-loved items from Inspired Room Style, based on what our followers liked most. Today we’re sharing our August favorites so readers here at TIR can see what resonated with the community.
If you missed the July favorites, you can see those in the July post.
Below are Inspired Room Style followers’ favorite items in August. Scroll through to see them all.

Sources for Above:
This jute and cotton rug with this rug pad – I picked this rug up recently and love it. I’ve shared it on Instagram and will feature it on the blog soon. It isn’t a fluffy rug but it’s pleasantly soft with a slightly nubby texture; because it’s cotton it isn’t rough like sisal. Ours has not shed, and we use a thick pad underneath for extra cushioning.
Rattan storage basket – I use this in the living room to store extra throw blankets.
Floral pillow – I introduced this pillow in a beach cottage tour post and liked it enough to order several from the same brand.

Brass task lamp – this lamp also appeared in the beach cottage tour and adds a warm, stylish touch to a desk or side table.
Blue plaid throw – I own this throw and it comes in additional colors. I included it in a recent Cozy Throw Blanket roundup, and it’s great for layering in cooler months.
Fall artificial eucalyptus stems – a simple, long-lasting way to add seasonal greenery to vases and arrangements.
Fall sailboat watercolor art print – my daughter ordered this print and said it’s even more beautiful in person; it makes a serene accent for a coastal or cottage-style space.
Striped and gingham kitchen towels – I featured these in a post about getting organized in the kitchen; they’re attractive, absorbent, and useful for everyday tasks.

Brass bells – We’ve displayed these bells in our kitchen for years and brought them into our new kitchen as well. They feel timeless and add a bit of vintage charm.
Electric kettle – this has been incredibly useful, especially when we hosted family recently. It’s fast, convenient, and has become a kitchen staple.

Simply Home book – thank you for the support when I released this new hardcover edition combining two popular paperbacks, Simple Organizing and Simple Decorating. I appreciate the encouragement from readers.
Many July favorites remained popular in August as well, including the gold easel-style plate stands that readers loved.
