Simple Holiday & Party Decor
Mason Jars
I know I’ve shared these jars many times before, but they deserve repeating. I recently searched “Christmas” on Pinterest and found these mason jars featured on the front page — again. These are my easy Epsom salt mason jars, a project I’ve been making for years, long before blogging.
Although the idea isn’t new, it remains one of the simplest and most effective decor projects. Mason jars filled with Epsom salt and a candle create a beautiful, wintry glow that works for holidays, parties, or everyday seasonal decorating. They’re straightforward to assemble and look charming whether used alone or in a group.
I use them often, especially on my porch and walkways during gatherings. They add a magical feel to any event and make decorating effortless. Having a few ready to go takes a lot of stress out of hosting — they instantly elevate the atmosphere with minimal effort.
After seeing these jars repinned and shared year after year, it’s comforting to know others love simple, easy-to-do decor as much as I do. Because the project is so quick and adaptable, I keep reinventing the same idea each season and find new ways to personalize it.

Here’s a fancier holiday version I made last year. It’s the same basic concept with a few added details — jute or ribbon around the jar mouth, jingle bells, decorative brads, or other small accents. Simple additions like these make the jars feel more festive and tailored to your decor.
You don’t even need a tutorial for this project. If you want to dress up a mason jar, wrap ribbon or twine around the rim, tie on a bell, or attach a tiny ornament — whatever suits your style.
If you haven’t tried Epsom salt mason jar candles yet, pick up a few jars and some Epsom salt at the grocery store. When you host a party or holiday gathering, you can quickly assemble them and create a cozy, festive vibe. They’re an easy way to look put-together and welcoming without a lot of fuss.
