The Pioneer Woman: Confessions and Challenges Revealed

So, I received a package in the mail yesterday from PW — that’s The Pioneer Woman, in case you haven’t heard of her. She sent me her cookbook, signed, as a gift.

I’ll admit, she probably knows I’m not a natural in the kitchen and thought this might help. She’s that kind of person. If anyone can make me excited to cook, it’s PW.

Honestly, I was thrilled when I opened the package. I snapped the photo above with my phone the moment I unwrapped it, so it’s a little blurry, but I couldn’t stop jumping up and down. The cookbook looks gorgeous and the recipes sound amazing. I got so inspired that I found myself browsing Anthropologie for cute baking gear — yes, really. Thinking about cooking often sends me straight into daydreams about pretty kitchen accessories. It’s a weakness I’m aware of.

Come window shopping with me online — I love peeking at pretty things, and this felt like the perfect excuse.

Ooo, pretty. I’m pretty sure I need this butter dish.

Or maybe this one — yes?

Oh, okay, maybe this one. You can never have too much butter, right? Let’s just get them all.

And these little chalkboard herb and spice jars — such a cute touch for the kitchen.

My eggs would look so charming in this tray. Almost like they came straight from the PW ranch!

How could I resist these tiny measuring cups? PW would approve — I absolutely need cute measuring cups.

A milk bottle measuring cup — it looks like something that belongs on PW’s ranch. I’ll have to grab this before I try a recipe from her book.

They call this a wallpaper juicer — I spent a while wondering how that would work for wallpapering before realizing the name is probably just whimsical. Regardless, I think it’s a must-have.

And finally, an adorable Farmer’s Market basket. Perfect for berries or whatever else I pick up for a recipe.

Are you with me? So adorable, right? These items make delightful gifts for yourself or someone else, and they’re reasonably priced for how charming they are. If I recall correctly, the priciest piece was around $38, with most items ranging from about $12 to $25. I’m feeling motivated to try a recipe now — I’ll report back on what I make and how it turns out.

This post is not sponsored by PW or Anthropologie, though I highly recommend both. PW’s new book can be preordered online, and you might find other favorite books or kitchen items in specialty shops.

So, which little kitchen gem from Anthropologie would you take home?

And do you find yourself cooking more on weekends or during the week?
