Merry Christmas, friends! Welcome to my seventeenth year of sharing our home at Christmas with you. If you had told me years ago that this would become part of my life, I wouldn’t have believed it—but I would have been delighted. Connecting with so many kindred spirits who love creating a warm, seasonal home has been such a joy.
I like to keep our holiday decorating simple and cozy, focusing on greenery, warm lights, and a touch of nostalgia. I often use items I already own. Our window candles and hanging stars have become treasured traditions in this house. This year we placed the tree in a slightly different spot than usual. It surprised some readers who know my past tree-placement debates, but the new location works perfectly for our smaller living room and for visiting little ones and dogs—so it may become a new tradition.
I take lots of photos every year, so this post is photo-heavy! I’ll share a short Christmas video in a few days as well.
Throughout the post I’ve included sources beneath many photos and gathered additional links at the end for convenience. If you can’t find something, check my LTK profile to shop items from each image. You don’t need the app to browse links, but the app can be convenient. Feel free to leave a comment with questions.
In a couple of days all our children and both of our new grandbabies will be here. I’m so excited to make new memories with them and to slow down and savor the true meaning of Christmas with family.
Thank you for your ongoing kindness and support for our home, The Inspired Room, and our family. It means so much. Merry Christmas to all!
