Praise be! The first official day of spring is this Sunday, and I felt inspired to add a few fresh things to my home from Target. This isn’t sponsored—I just needed a little affordable online shopping therapy and wanted to share a few finds that brought instant spring cheer.
At the start of every season I like to take a moment to refresh the house. You don’t have to make big changes: a few simple swaps or tidying sessions can lift your mood and help your home feel more in tune with the season. Seeing spring reflected in your surroundings makes home feel more restorative and alive.
You don’t have to buy anything to make a difference. Use what you already own, put away heavy winter items, and tidy spaces that have become cluttered. Even small rituals—done monthly—can make your home a calmer, more welcoming place.

If you enjoy the idea of seasonal rhythms and creating a home that feels nurturing year-round, I recently wrote a book called A Lovely Life, full of simple ideas for embracing beauty, rituals, and gentle routines through the seasons. It’s a hardcover filled with photos and encouragement for slowing down and savoring home life.
You can pre-order the book now if you’d like to be one of the first to receive it. It’s aimed at anyone who feels overwhelmed by the pace of life and wants inspiration for a simpler, more intentional home.
With spring arriving, I was drawn to a fresh, organic, and soft palette: greenery, textured baskets, and pretty pillow covers. Those small elements bring immediate warmth and a seasonal feel without a big overhaul.

I usually prefer real plants, but after moving into a new home I opted for a few realistic faux plants while I figure out where real ones will live and which varieties suit our light. Faux plants have been a practical choice while settling in—no watering schedule to maintain yet—and they still bring the freshness of greenery indoors.

One of the easiest seasonal changes is swapping pillow covers. This spring I changed covers for a softer look. While Target doesn’t always sell covers separately, the pillows I chose have zippers, making it easy to change the covers and inserts when I want a different style.

I also picked up a scalloped basket that felt perfect for spring. Right now it’s hanging on a wall, but I plan to move it to a door, a porch, or another spot around the house to display seasonal branches or small arrangements. The scalloped edge gives it a sweet, soft look that works well with the other spring accents.
Happy almost spring!
PS: Last week I shared more of our living room and some ideas for spring puttering around the house if you’d like more inspiration.
