BBe honest. How do you really feel about the coming season? Are you eager for fall, or is there anxiety or even fear mixed in? It’s natural to feel a range of emotions right now. This fall feels different than any other—beyond the usual concerns about colder weather or seasonal affective disorder, many of us are processing extra stressors and uncertainty. Still, we can make choices that help us live well through it.
My theme for the year and for this blog is “A Year of Dwelling Well.” When I first shared this idea, I couldn’t predict what the months ahead would bring. Even so, it remains the way I want to live—intentionally and with care.
How can we dwell well this fall?
We can shape our homes to nourish us—mind, body, and soul—so they support our well-being.
We can arrange and style our spaces to inspire calm and contentment.
We can embrace simple pleasures and cultivate gratitude for small daily comforts.
We can look for subtle ways to feel more connected to our homes and to the people we love.
We can create cozy corners that serve as a refuge from the world when we need rest and respite.
We can establish gentle routines and seasonal rhythms that bring stability and peace amid life’s busyness.
We can care for the environments we live in so they are not only beautiful but healthy and welcoming for everyone who lives there.
I’m so glad you’re joining us for Fall Nesting this year. We’ll explore these ideas throughout the series and I hope they encourage and inspire you.
PS. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the fires, including friends and family in Oregon.
