HHello, friends! Recently I wrote about our new leather sofa and how it complements the copper and wood elements in our home. Today I want to share a few pieces from my copper collection. Although copper can seem expensive, most of my pieces—pots, a colander, a tea kettle, pans, and a bowl—were inexpensive finds from estate and yard sales. I often hang items from my copper collection in the kitchen as wall decor or on a pot rack. I love the warm patina copper develops over time; it brings a soft glow and a lived-in look to a room.
For a while some of my copper pots ended up in the garage after we moved here six years ago. A little while back I brought them inside and found a perfect spot to display a couple on the dining room wall. The copper looks wonderful with our copper-topped dining light, and it pairs beautifully with the wood floors. Copper is a warm metal that adds richness and a gentle shine that contrasts nicely with natural wood tones.

My copper and brass teakettle has been with me for many years. My favorite accessories are the ones collected over time—each piece has its own story. Building a collection takes patience, but that process is part of the pleasure.
I don’t own a copper KitchenAid mixer; I haven’t found one on my usual secondhand outings yet. Still, I enjoy adding copper accents in small ways around the house. Whether hung on a wall, displayed on open shelving, or used as functional cookware, copper brings warmth and character to everyday spaces.
Do you have any copper in your home?
