Farmhouse Style Cottage
NThis isn’t my new house, but what a beautiful one. I first saw this charming farmhouse on HGTV and paused to admire its classic lines and welcoming porch. Of all the architectural styles I love, a white farmhouse is high on my list of dream homes. Even though I’ve never wanted to live on a working farm, I’m irresistibly drawn to the simple, comforting details of farmhouse design—the wide porch, the lanterns, and the crisp white exterior.
At the moment I’m surrounded by boxes as we prepare to move into a new home. In six days I’ll spend my first night there. We finally signed the papers, and it feels wonderful to have a settled plan. While our new house isn’t this fairytale farmhouse, it will be our home for years to come, and that is what matters most.
To me, a dream home is where imagination meets reality. We all have visions of the perfect place, but home is where daily life happens and memories are made. I’ll share more about how we chose this house in a future post—it’s unlike any place I’ve lived before, and I’m surprisingly happy with our decision.
