As I mentioned, our living room has been in an “in-between” makeover. With the holidays approaching I wanted the space to feel cozy and functional, so I focused on finishing a few remaining pieces. After rearranging the room this year, pulling everything back together took some time, but I’m happy with how it’s shaping up.

One of my favorite furniture pieces that’s helped more than once is the Aiden Console Table from World Market. It’s incredibly versatile; we’ve used it in three different ways across two homes. Today I’ll share how I styled it this season and why it worked so well for our sectional.

I was missing a sofa table to place behind our sectional. I considered several options, but most units I tried were too short. I didn’t want to spend the time or money on a custom piece since this sectional may not stay here long.

The Aiden Console Table kept coming back to mind. It was perfect in height and depth for behind a sofa and fit the style I wanted, but it was slightly too short to span the full length of the sectional.

Because the table worked so well in almost every other way, I had a simple idea: if one Aiden cart works as a sofa table, why not use two side by side to create one long table? I measured, grabbed a gift card, and headed to World Market—luckily it was 40% off that day.

I brought the second table home and set the two carts side by side behind the sectional. No modifications, no fastening—just two identical pieces placed together. The result is a seamless, long sofa table that looks intentional and balanced.

You can’t always see the full length when the sectional is in front, but from the sides and from above the paired tables look attractive from every angle. They provide a perfect spot for lamps, decorative accents, books, or snacks without overwhelming the space.

You can see a few other ways I’ve used the Aiden Console Table over the years. In a narrow dining area it served as an elegant display table and was fun to decorate for the holidays.

We also used the table as a serving cart for drinks and desserts in different rooms, taking advantage of its mobility and compact footprint.

The console table has consistently demonstrated how investing in flexible pieces pays off. A single well-chosen item can adapt to multiple needs and rooms over time.

Two Aiden Console Tables together give us a long, attractive surface that feels intentional and practical. They provide just the right amount of storage and display space while keeping the room open and comfortable.
