Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator and AddWash Washer: Smart Home Appliances Guide

Samsung FamilyHub Refrigerator

One of the things I’m most excited about as I plan our remodel is choosing new appliances. I haven’t shopped for appliances in years—during our last kitchen update I simply reused what we already had—so I didn’t keep up with recent innovations. Now that we’re remodeling, researching the latest options has been fun. The advances in design and technology are impressive and could make daily life easier.

CES 2016 - The Inspired Room

A few weeks ago I attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. CES is a massive showcase for new tech. I was invited to attend with Samsung as one of their brand ambassadors, along with The Everyday Man and Joe’s Daily, which gave me the chance to see Samsung’s newest appliances up close.

Today I want to introduce two Samsung appliances that stood out to me: the Family Hub refrigerator and the AddWash washing machine. Both illustrate how far appliances have come. They add convenience and efficiency, which are especially valuable for busy families and small business owners juggling many responsibilities.

Family Hub Refrigerator by Samsung - Touch Screen

The Samsung Family Hub refrigerator really captured my attention. As our family has grown busier and my business has expanded, we’ve leaned on technology to stay organized. I still love our magnetic chalkboard command center and use paper notebooks at times, but I also rely on electronic calendars and reminders to coordinate schedules. The Family Hub takes that concept further by bringing a digital family organizing center right to the refrigerator door where everyone can view shared information at a glance.

The Family Hub offers many practical features that can save time and reduce stress. It includes a large touchscreen that can display calendars, notes, photos and reminders for the household. It also integrates with other smart devices and can help with meal planning by showing what’s inside the fridge and suggesting recipes. Another clever feature is the FlexZone, a compartment that you can switch between refrigerator and freezer settings depending on your needs. These innovations make the fridge a central, interactive part of family life.

I appreciate how the Family Hub can help coordinate busy schedules, display reminders, and centralize family communication. The FlexZone is especially useful when you need extra freezer or fridge space for entertaining or seasonal needs. Seeing the refrigerator in person at CES highlighted how appliances are evolving into connected, useful hubs for the home.

The New Samsung AddWash Washing Machine

Samsung AddWash Washing Machine

The other standout was the AddWash washing machine. I first mentioned it a few months ago, and at CES I saw it working live. For fans of front-load washers, AddWash addresses a common limitation: once the cycle starts, it’s tough to add forgotten items. Samsung added a small secondary door in the front so you can drop in a stray sock, a hand-wash item, or more delicate pieces after the cycle has begun—without stopping or draining the load. It’s a simple but smart improvement that enhances laundry flexibility.

The AddWash also offers thoughtful cycle options and technologies aimed at cleaning effectively while protecting fabrics. For households with active kids or busy schedules, the ability to quickly add an item mid-cycle can prevent extra loads and save time.

Both appliances demonstrate how thoughtful design and connected features can make everyday tasks smoother. Whether it’s organizing family life with the Family Hub or improving laundry flexibility with AddWash, these innovations are practical and family-friendly.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek! I can’t wait to share more details about our upcoming kitchen remodel, including cabinet colors, countertop choices and layout ideas.

I am thrilled to be a brand ambassador for Samsung Home Appliances and this post was created as part of my partnership. My experiences and opinions are my own.
