Refresh Your Home Inside and Out: Simple Ways to Get Started

Last year I focused on updating and organizing our home. It was a season of messy projects, many decisions, and frequent furniture rearranging. Even so, I’m very glad I tackled so much. Now we can truly enjoy our space, and the effort was worth it. (That house in the photo at the top isn’t mine—I wish it were. It comes from a Drive By on San Juan Island.)

The kitchen reveal is still coming—blinds need to be hung before I can take the final photos. If you see my husband, please remind him gently; I’ve been waiting for his help so I can finish and share how the kitchen came together.

This year I’m planning smaller projects, but I still have several home improvement ideas I’m excited about. After spending time thinking through priorities, I finally settled on projects that fit our needs. A few new ideas even popped up this week—sometimes taking your time helps clarify what you really want.

If you’re planning to refresh your home this year, I’ve written two posts with practical tips to help you love your space inside and out. One covers interior rejuvenation and the other focuses on curb appeal.
