Cozy Throws for Fall and Winter: Top Picks and Living Room Rug Reveal

Cozy season is almost here, and that means one thing at our house: more blankets. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite cozy throws I’d love to have around the home, and below I’ll share a bit about our new rug and how it’s making the living area feel warmer and more inviting.

I have the blue plaid throw shown in these photos — it’s one of my top picks for autumn and winter.

The house is still settling after our renovation — we’ve got blue painter’s tape here and there and the living room windows are waiting for treatments — but we’re focused on making the space feel cozy anyway. Blankets, soft textures and a few layered elements go a long way toward creating comfort even when things aren’t finished.

I really appreciate everyone who follows along and enjoys the progress photos. Your kind comments keep me motivated to continue sharing the journey, even when the rooms aren’t perfectly styled yet.

Rug Source

Speaking of cozy, we recently added a new rug to bring warmth to our living area. I chose a neutral, textured rug so we could layer a patterned rug on top if we wanted, but it also looks beautiful on its own. The color and texture soften the room and complement our new floors, and it gives a subtle nod to the nearby sandy beach. Importantly, the rug feels soft underfoot rather than rough like some natural fiber options. I also purchased a rug pad to keep it in place and add extra cushioning.

I’m excited to share more as we continue to settle in. Fall nesting season is approaching fast — are you getting ready too? If you’d like to join our fall and holiday session at the HomeBody Gathering Place, now is the time to sign up; registration closes soon.
