Hope you had a nice “spring forward” weekend! I’ve had one of those busy stretches where projects, deadlines and travel all collided. It took most of this week and weekend to catch up after being out of town, but that’s part of running a small business — you can step away, but the work keeps moving. I love what I do, even during hectic seasons.

Many of you enjoyed the post where I shared snapshots from our family’s Instagram accounts, so I’m planning to make that a semi-regular feature. I won’t promise a rigid schedule — after ten years of blogging, I know how unpredictable life can be — but on some Sundays I’ll share a roundup of our Instagram photos and other informal home and family updates you won’t find elsewhere.
I prefer posting here because social media expectations can feel overwhelming. I love connecting with you in this space — you all are my favorite.
I ordered new framed botanical art for our entry hall and I love how it adds just the right touch of green to make the space feel finished. You can see it in the top photo; I’ll share more soon.

Jack is all smiles about the new kitchen. He must have felt left out while the contractors were here, so now he wants to be in there all the time. He’s a funny dog — do you follow his adventures on Facebook? He’s easy to find there.

My girls and I worked on a fun project this weekend to celebrate the upcoming release of my new book, Simple Decorating. Amazon has already listed it, but we’ll have an official launch closer to April 1st.
On Friday both of my girls came over to work, and all four doodles were here. They had a blast sprinting through the yard — doodle heaven — and after playing in the muddy weather each pup needed a foot bath before coming inside.

I shared a short video this weekend of my wood-and-glass diffuser that plays music. This diffuser makes the house feel like a spa every day. I often mention the products I use and why I recommend them, and I have a diffuser kit that I like to share with anyone who asks.

This is Lily’s spot every day. I can’t blame her — it’s cozy and sunny.
We found the cutest measuring cup at Anthropologie downtown last week — each of my girls got one and now it’s on my wish list. Also, a heads-up: Anthropologie carries Rifle Paper Company oven mitts and aprons right now. Love that.
God paints such lovely skies and landscapes outside our windows every day. They are always changing and always a reminder to pause and appreciate the beauty right in front of us.

We’re working on the side patio outside our kitchen Dutch door. It’s not finished yet, but this Friday I’ll share a post with Birch Lane that shows the Dutch door and the white brick from the outside. It’s looking cute so far, even though it’s not done.
Once the weather cooperates I’ll be out there sipping coffee and planting pots every morning. Has spring arrived where you are yet?

Leo, Kylee’s pup and Bella’s “brother,” is getting bigger and fluffier — he still hasn’t had his first puppy haircut, but he’s as darling as ever.

Jack has already claimed our new dining room bench as his own. He really makes himself at home everywhere in the house.
