Plate Racks for Displaying Platters, Serving Boards & Plates — Sunday Finds

Plate racks bring a timeless blend of charm and practicality to any home. Ideal for storing and showcasing platters, plates, cutting boards, and serving pieces, they make the most of small or shallow wall spaces and keep everyday items within easy reach.

While hidden storage is convenient, I love the idea of keeping beautiful, frequently used items on display. It’s a practical approach that also adds personality and warmth to a room. This is what I call “everyday on display,” a decorating concept I’ve written about for years and included in my books — arranging daily-use items so they’re both useful and pretty.

Wall-mounted plate racks are widely available in many styles, from simple wooden rails to elegant brass versions. There are also plenty of DIY options if you enjoy hands-on projects. A plate rack is versatile and can be used in kitchens, dining rooms, pantries, mudrooms, or even entryways — anywhere you want to combine storage with a decorative touch. I’m considering adding one to our mudroom as part of upcoming updates.

I’ll share more about our kitchen plans and remodel soon. If you follow my Instagram stories, you may have seen that we’ve officially broken ground on our addition — more updates are coming!
