Lakeside Weekend Retreat: Stunning Lake House for Relaxation

If I lived here…I would invite you all over for a girls’ weekend lake house party! Girls only.

I picture us leaving laptops and phones on the far shore so we can enjoy an unplugged weekend together. Family would watch the kids back home, and we’d truly relax.

On that first evening we’d slip into pajamas, sit in those porch chairs, and talk late into the night—laughing, swapping stories and fresh ideas with no schedule to follow.

The next morning we’d sleep in, then make coffee and warm scones. After a slow, leisurely breakfast we’d take the boats out for a gentle row around the lake—slow and peaceful, without the need to break a sweat.

We’d stop for lunch at a charming bistro, and spend the afternoon strolling a picturesque street of small, inviting shops. It would be the kind of wandering that feels effortless and restorative.

At one point we’d notice we didn’t have phones to post about our escape. We’d ask a friendly local to take our photo and text it to someone back home so we could remember the moment later—no social feed pressure, just a keepsake.

As dusk fell, we’d return to the house, mix up fruity cocktails, and slip into the indoor pool for a warm, private swim—because I like to imagine this house includes a pool.

We’d end each evening in cozy yoga pants, preparing snacks and settling in for a marathon of chick flicks, complete with easy conversation and comfortable silences between films.

By the time the weekend ended we’d feel like lifelong friends, closer and happier from the shared time. Every message or visit afterward would spark fond recollections of that unplugged weekend at the lake house.

I love this little daydream—simple, warm, and full of good company.
