New Year Home Inspiration: A Phrase to Motivate Your Space

Do you choose a word of the year to guide you? This year I decided a single word wasn’t enough—I needed a whole phrase.

The phrase “A place for everything and everything in its place” has become my inspiration. It’s urging me not only to simplify and organize, but to consider how each area of my home can be intentionally designed to create a calmer, more peaceful daily rhythm.

An inviting spot to get dressed.
A quiet corner for makeup.
A beautiful place for my jewelry.

On Sunday I repeated the phrase as I began rearranging our bedroom, bathroom, and closet. It felt good to move slowly and deliberately, listening to what each space needed.

Although there’s still more to do, without buying anything I’ve already made the bedroom feel fresher and more restful.

I’m always surprised at how rewarding it is to take the time to shape your surroundings into a sanctuary. Gentle effort and thoughtful placement can change how a space supports your day.
