Here are a few small cellphone snapshots from the last couple of weeks…
We finally found time to bake our Christmas cookies.
My youngest daughter made homemade granola using her sister’s chia granola recipe — absolutely delicious.
We’ve been sitting by the fire lately. These are our fancy Christmas stocking holders (stockings not shown).
We’ve been enjoying slow mornings — sleeping in and lounging around with the dogs.
We hosted our annual Awkward Family Photo and ugly Christmas sweater party at church. Everyone comes in their most outrageous holiday outfits and we set up a little photo area — it’s always so much fun.
We made more mason jar candles filled with Epsom salt to give out at our Christmas Eve service — a simple, cozy gift.
I brought my orange tree indoors for winter and set it in the bathroom under a skylight. The blossoms smell incredible — the fragrance fills the bathroom and drifts into the bedroom. I wish you could smell it through the screen.
I received a lovely Secret Santa gift — I can’t wait to sit by the fire and leaf through it.
Blankets have been out at every opportunity — we’re cuddling up to stay warm on these chilly days.
We’ve also been getting outside for walks. It’s been brisk, but bright and beautiful.
Amid the busyness, we’re slowing down to remember the true meaning of the season.
Well, most of us are slowing down.
Merry Christmas to you all — I count you among my many blessings.
