What a delightful start to spring—my new striped loveseat arrived two months early. Buying a couch felt like a big decision because it will sit at the heart of our home for years, so I wanted to be sure I truly loved it.
Furniture can be difficult to judge from samples and photos alone. You have to consider scale, fabric, comfort and style, and I was taking a small risk choosing a bold blue stripe instead of a plain fabric. Mood boards and imagination helped, but nothing compares to seeing the piece in the room.
To my surprise, I love this striped couch even more than I imagined. It’s charming, cozy and comfortable—exactly what we hoped for.

I haven’t finished styling the whole room yet, but I wanted to share it right away. For now, a dining room rug is temporarily placed under the couch until our new rug arrives—this temporary rug adds a cozy feel while we complete the rest of the space. I’ll share more photos once everything is in place.
When you step into the room and see the couch, it feels like it was made for this house. The size fits the spot perfectly; we chose the 61-inch loveseat rather than a longer version so it leaves room to move around and to arrange additional seating when guests visit.

Our living room is compact, so I measured carefully before shopping and determined 61 inches was ideal. Our previous sofa was longer mostly because of oversized arms, which limited layout options. Choosing a modest length makes the room feel balanced and keeps traffic flow clear.
I researched thoroughly and made a list of priorities for the new sofa—things I hoped to have and expected I might need to compromise on. Because a sofa is such an important piece, I didn’t want to settle for something I didn’t truly love.

To my delight, this sofa met everything on my list. It checked all the boxes.
My ideal list included:
Loveseat (61 inches)
Durable, pet-friendly fabric
Greenguard certified
Color and pattern I loved
English roll arm style
Bench seat
Down-filled cushions
Caster legs
Tight back (no loose back cushions)
I worried that this combination might be impossible within our budget, but the research paid off—this sofa delivers on design, comfort and quality.

The scalloped back was an unexpected favorite. It wasn’t a must-have, but it adds a touch of charm and makes the piece feel special.
The tight back is a winner for both aesthetics and practicality. It stays neat without constant fluffing, which matters since the couch is visible from the main floor and entry. It’s also comfortable for a wide range of body types.

The sofa includes two down-filled pillows that provide optional lumbar support. At 5’2″ I find a pillow helpful when sitting all the way back, but taller people can sit back comfortably without them. The seat depth balances conversation-friendly seating with enough room to curl up for a nap.
This balance of depth and cushion support makes the sofa versatile: roomy when you want to sprawl, yet easy to sit up and chat. The bench seat was a deliberate choice for the short length so two people can sit comfortably with room between them for a child or pet—no one has to sit on a seam between cushions.

If you’ve been searching for a sofa, we really love this one. It fits our space, style and everyday needs.
I also chose chairs for the room and expect them to arrive in the next couple of months. I considered several options and ended up taking a different direction than I originally imagined—I’m glad I took the time to plan. I’ll share updates and styling photos once the room is complete.
