Love Your Home Challenge: Week 2 Declutter & Refresh

Love the Home You Have - The Inspired Room Love Your Home Challenge

Hi friends! The first seven days of the spring edition of the Love Your Home Challenge are complete, and we’re ready to begin week two. If you’re sharing progress, I’ve loved seeing your updates on Instagram. Keep posting photos and encouraging one another as you move through these simple, uplifting tasks.

Below are the next seven days of challenges — enjoy!

Week Two - Love Your Home Challenge - The Inspired Room

Day 8 – Pamper Yourself: Dedicate at least part of today to something you truly enjoy. What’s one small luxury you always wish you had time for? Today, make time for a warm bath, paint your nails, savor a quiet cup of coffee with a good book, or do anything else that replenishes you.

Day 9 – A Home Notebook: Create or update a simple home notebook to keep important details organized. Use a three-ring binder with dividers and sleeves, a bound notebook, or an electronic system on your phone or computer. Divide it by room so you can record paint and fabric names, sketch floor plans and window measurements, list furniture or accessories you’re hunting for, keep garden notes, track maintenance and warranties, and save inspiration photos.

Day 10 – Set a Spring Table: Refresh your dining area for spring. Clear any clutter and give the table a good cleaning. Choose a base for a centerpiece — a vase, tray, bowl, cloche, or cake plate — then gather items from around the house or add a few new spring accents like ceramic eggs, bird or bunny figurines on moss, or a simple bouquet of tulips or daffodils.

Day 11 – Go Organic: Bring natural life indoors. Start a small kitchen herb garden, or collect organic elements from outside such as branches, pretty rocks, or seasonal fruits and vegetables. Arrange sticks or flowering branches in a vase, display polished stones, or place a bowl of fresh produce where it can be admired.

Day 12 – Note to Self: Choose meaningful quotes, verses, or words of encouragement to post around your home. Print favorites or design your own. Tuck uplifting notes into drawers, lunch boxes, and bathroom mirrors to inspire yourself and your family throughout the day.

Day 13 – Dress It Up: Turn tonight’s dinner into a special occasion. Set the table in advance: clear away clutter, lay out pretty spring linens and place settings, add votive candles, and play soft music to create a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere.

Day 14 – Welcome Home: Give your front door or porch a simple spring refresh. Sweep and clean the entryway, then add a seasonal wreath, a pot of flowers, or a handmade spring banner to create a warm, welcoming arrival every time you come home.
