House Beautiful
TI’m definitely a fan of white cottage kitchens. My previous kitchen was all white; my current one features natural wood. I may change it again someday, though I haven’t decided what that would be. I love the brightness of white, but I’m also drawn to kitchens with color — I once painted my cabinets green and adored the result.
Traditional Home
I’m also attracted to the look of black knobs in a kitchen. Many kitchens use nickel or silver pulls, but the contrast of black hardware against white cabinetry catches my eye every time. I’ve written several posts about white kitchens, and I’ve also shared ideas about kitchens with personality and the impact of striped rugs in white kitchens.
Finding Inspiration
So many things spark ideas. That’s the heart of this blog: sharing everyday inspiration. But if you want to find something I’ve shared previously, it can sometimes be hard to track down.
If you’re trying to locate a past post, here are a few tips:
You can browse the archives, which is one way to find older posts. I’ve also added a Google search box in the upper right sidebar to make it easier to pinpoint specific content. If you read this via RSS or email, click through to the site to access the search.
Use the search box to type words or phrases related to what you’re looking for. Try keywords like “decorating with red,” “colored walls,” “bedrooms,” or seasonal topics such as “Valentine’s Day.” You might not always find an exact match, but the search often turns up useful and inspiring posts you may have missed.
Note that sometimes search results will show reader comments that include your search terms even if the main post is unrelated, so don’t be discouraged if a result isn’t exactly what you expected.
Most of the time, if I’ve written about a topic or mentioned it, the search can uncover it. It’s been interesting to revisit years of posts and see recurring themes — Google can be surprisingly thorough at remembering what’s been written.
I feel like there’s still so much I want to cover. Blogging has been a creative adventure, and I’m excited to keep sharing ideas.
Tell me if the search bar works for you — I may tweak posts so they’re easier to find.
