Where did you find …. for your new kitchen?
Wondering where to begin with a kitchen design project? If you’re asking where to find hardware, lighting, cabinets, tile, sinks, faucets or accessories, this guide collects the sources and choices I used in my kitchen remodels. For a major remodel, consider hiring a qualified kitchen designer to ensure the design is safe, code-compliant and functional, and to help avoid costly mistakes. Remodeling can be stressful and expensive, but planning and the right choices make a big difference.
In both of my recent remodels I handled the design myself because we left major systems—appliances, electrical, plumbing and overall layout—mostly in place. I then worked with local contractors (general contractor, plumber, electrician, painters) and used local or online suppliers to achieve the updates I wanted on a reasonable budget that fit the style and quality of the house.
Low-quality DIY choices can lower your home’s value. As you make decisions, balance your budget with how improvements will affect resale value. Over-investing in a home you plan to sell soon may not make financial sense; each situation is different, so weigh your goals and budget carefully.
My selections may not be right for every home or budget, but I hope these ideas and resources serve as inspiration or a practical starting point for projects both large and small.
Below I’ve compiled a detailed list of the materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, appliances and accessories used in my kitchen reveal. This is intended to save time for anyone looking for specifics and to provide a clear reference for common choices in kitchen remodeling.
If you want to save these ideas for future reference, pin images from the original kitchen reveal or save favorites as you browse.
If something here doesn’t answer your question, ask in the comments and I’ll try to follow up with more details.
