Fresh Color Scheme and Theme Ideas for My Baby Son’s Nursery

Fresh and Fun Colors for a Baby Nursery!

YSometimes I feel a little nostalgic about all the projects I worked on before I started blogging. I have so many rooms and outdoor projects—bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, gardens and flagstone paths—that never made it online. Those early projects were meaningful, even if I didn’t document them well at the time.

What I love about blogging now is how it lets us share our homes and stories with others, almost like welcoming a neighbor into our space. It’s fun to chat about the things we’re doing, the choices we make, and the bits of our lives we love. That connection makes sharing projects so rewarding.

Speaking of older projects, I recently had the chance to write about one that’s especially dear to me: my son Luke’s nursery. Although I don’t have the polished before-and-after photos or staged reveal shots you often see today, I enjoyed revisiting that room. Luke is almost 12 now and we’ve moved on from that house, but creating his nursery was a joyful experience. He was a very wanted little boy, adorable then and still just as sweet.

It’s fun to take a trip down memory lane and pull out the grainy, imperfect photos from the pre-blogging days. Even without professional lighting or fancy gear, I loved designing rooms back then just as much as I do now. Those projects capture the heart of home-making—making spaces that feel warm, personal, and welcoming.

If you’d like to see the nursery theme and a photo of my little guy, check out my post over at My Colortopia where I wrote about a boy’s nursery inspired by The Hobbit. You can leave comments there and ask questions about planning your own nursery.

P.S. I’ve been working on some exciting changes at The Inspired Room that I’ll be revealing soon. I’m thrilled about the updates and the chance to share more of what I love. Thanks for following along—there’s more to come!
