Happy Monday! I received several lovely comments and questions last week about the curtain I hung in the doorway of my entry, so I wanted to share more about why I added it and offer a bit of inspiration.
I actually hung this curtain over the holidays. It was an idea I had considered for a long time but hesitated to try. When I found a gray striped panel with pom-poms at Target, I decided to give it a go.

My pom-pom curtain panel
The panel hangs from a simple white tension rod, so it’s easy to remove if we change our minds later. I tied it back with a string looped on a cup hook for a casual look.
This solution might not suit every home, but I love it — and since it’s not permanent, it felt worth trying. We’ve debated many options for that doorway, such as closing it off to create a different bedroom or bathroom entrance, installing a new door, or building a small hallway and door for a future bathroom remodel. All those ideas are still on the table, and until we decide if or when to make a more permanent change, the curtain is an inexpensive, low-commitment fix.

The curtain solved a few small problems: it made the hall feel cozier, reduced noise a bit, added personality, and helped define the entrance to the master suite. It also adds a touch of privacy when we have guests over.
Too often we overcomplicate decorating decisions and assume the most expensive or structural change is the only “right” way. I appreciate simple solutions that are attractive, effective, and budget-friendly. We’ve used doorway curtains in previous homes and found they’re a lovely way to separate or define spaces, add charm, and soften drafty openings.
Below are some additional photos for inspiration showing how curtains can work in various doorways and hallways.
Enjoy!
