Natalie from Doodlecraft created the winning reclaimed wood lamp shown above
Hello! Do you see that fun lamp in the photo above?
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be co-hosting a Lamps & Lighting DIY Workshop on July 12 from 10:00–11:30 AM at The Home Depot store in Bellevue, WA!
So, can you guess what I’ll be making and bringing to the workshop? I’m thrilled (and a little nervous) to share my version of this project.
Recently The Home Depot partnered with Instructables for a Lamps & Lighting contest. The winning project pictured above was judged on clarity, ingenuity, creativity, and quality of presentation and execution. Natalie from Doodlecraft built the Himmeli-style shade using coffee stir sticks—a wonderfully clever idea. Full DIY instructions for the reclaimed wood lamp and the Himmeli shade are available from the original project.
I’ll be creating my own take on the Instructables winner’s lamp for the workshop and sharing the process here as well. Expect a hands-on, approachable version you can recreate at home.
The Home Depot hosts free workshops for DIYers of all ages and skill levels who want to learn how to tackle more home projects. If you’d like to sign up for a workshop, find one near you through The Home Depot’s DIY Workshops registration page. Follow along on social media with the hashtag #DIYWorkshop to see projects and updates.
The location and time where I’ll be hosting the workshop are below:
