Few decorative touches are as welcoming and festive as a seasonal wreath on the door. A wreath can set the tone for the whole home; even if you don’t add any other seasonal decor, a well-chosen wreath makes a bold, cheerful statement.
Hanging a wreath often makes me feel more put together and like I’ve taken a moment to care for my home. It’s a small detail that makes a noticeable difference.
Do you feel that way, too?

I’m loving my new autumn wreath — it’s so beautiful and really lifts my entrance. A wreath can add color, texture, and personality, and it’s an easy way to celebrate the season.
If you’re wondering how to hang a wreath on a door without causing damage, even on a door with glass panels, it’s simpler than you might think. Doors vary, so you may find a different method that works better for yours, but here’s a reliable approach I use.

I don’t use a commercial wreath hanger. Instead I use a flat thumb tack — the kind used for cork boards — and some string. Clear fishing line works well if you want the hanging method to be nearly invisible, but regular string or twine is sturdy and fine, too.
To hang the wreath, press a flat tack into the very top edge of the door where it won’t be visible from the outside. Loop the string or wire around the tack, then tie it securely to the wreath. The tack holds the weight without marring the finish, and the wreath appears to float neatly on the door.
