Martha Stewart Decoupaged Easter Egg

I’ve always imagined I should be able to decorate delicate Easter eggs the way Martha Stewart does. They look so elegant and timeless. Martha even offers a decoupage tutorial for her eggs, which demonstrates the technique step by step.

My attempt at a sheet music egg for spring.

This week I tried my hand at Mod Podging a sheet music egg. The paper kept sticking to my fingers, which made positioning the music tricky and a bit reminiscent of past crafting mishaps. It required patience and a steady touch to smooth the paper over the curved surface without tearing or wrinkling it.

It became clear I need to refine my technique—working with thin paper on curved objects takes practice, the right adhesive amount, and careful smoothing. Using small, overlapping pieces and a soft brush to apply adhesive helps prevent bubbles and uneven edges.

Do you Mod Podge? I’d love tips!
