DIY Cinnamon Stick Candles – Stories A to Z
Can we take a moment to talk about fall and holiday scents? It’s one of the best parts of the season. My daughter Courtney and I have a habit of trying every candle we see when we shop—we inhale deeply, compare notes and often laugh at how seriously we take it. It’s a simple joy, but one we both love.
I adore the rich, warm aromas of autumn.
I love the comforting fragrances of the holidays.
I want my home to greet me with notes of vanilla and cinnamon the moment I walk in.
Baked-good scents—pumpkin, spice cake, gingerbread—are some of my favorites.
The scent of a wood-burning fire in the fireplace feels cozy and nostalgic.
I enjoy smelling a gingerbread latte almost as much as I enjoy drinking one.
A light dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg on whipped cream makes even a simple treat feel seasonal.
One of my go-to holiday tricks is a pot of spiced cranberry cider simmering on the stove with cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange slices—its aroma fills the whole house. I’ll share the recipe I use soon because it’s so good.
We usually choose real Christmas trees so the natural pine scent becomes part of the home’s fragrance.
The perfumes of fall and the holidays inspire so many little seasonal details around the house.
What are your favorite holiday scents? Which candles or scenting methods make your home feel most festive? Do you use a candle warmer or simmer pots—what fragrances do you recommend?
DIY cinnamon-stick candles are an easy, charming way to make ordinary candles feel more seasonal. The photo above showcases a simple DIY idea from Stories A to Z that wraps cinnamon sticks around a candle for a cozy, fragrant touch.
