A few months ago I added a walking pad under-desk treadmill to a corner of the Snug. I usually prefer walking outdoors, but having this compact treadmill at home has been such a convenient alternative—I can hop on for a quick walk anytime. Right now it’s available at a discount during Amazon’s Memorial Day sale, which made it an easy purchase.
The treadmill was simple to set up and is very user-friendly. It includes a remote so you can change speeds without bending down, and it has wheels so you can roll it to a spot with a view or tuck it away when not in use. For convenience I keep it out of the main traffic area, which keeps the room tidy while still allowing quick access.

To pair with the treadmill I picked up a small standing desk that serves as a handy surface for a lamp and a few essentials. I like that it’s compact, height-adjustable, and rolls on lockable wheels so I can move it around the room. It’s lightweight and affordable—perfect for light use. It’s not built for heavy loads, but because it locks in place and sits against the wall, it’s stable enough to rest a hand on while walking.
The exposed lamp cord is something I plan to address; I bought a rechargeable bulb to try in the lamp so I can reduce the visible wiring and simplify the setup.

We also brought in a wicker weave privacy screen. It helps create a bit of separation when guests are over and hides the treadmill when I’d rather not be in view. Recently we used it downstairs when my nephew stayed over on a cot; the screen added privacy and made the space feel cozier. It brings texture and warmth to the room. The screen is light but stable enough to stand on hardwood floors, though it could be knocked over by small, active children.

My white leather sneakers are a few years old but remain my go-to shoes for running errands and walking around town. They’re comfortable and have held up well.
To give this corner a little visual interest, I added a seascape painting I found at a local antique shop. It provides a calming focal point and a sense of a view where there isn’t one.
The little lamp is a vintage piece I’ve had for decades; I refreshed it with a scalloped chambray lampshade, which updated the look and added a soft, charming touch.
We’ve owned the boat-shaped bookshelf for years. It’s a favorite in the house—perfect for holding books and small keepsakes.
The wall color in this space is Smoked Embers by Benjamin Moore, which helps create a cozy, enveloping backdrop for the nook.
I’ll continue updating my storefront folder with favorites from the Memorial Day sale.
