Coastal Christmas Decor Ideas: Chic Beach-Inspired Holiday Styling

Coastal Living

After creating my own northwest coastal winter front door arrangement, I searched online for more beach-inspired Christmas décor ideas. Coastal Living offered plenty of beautiful inspiration that felt fresh and playful.

I wouldn’t actually top my tree with a mermaid, but the idea is whimsical and eye-catching. Theme trees like this can be both unique and fun, making a bold statement in a holiday display.

The thick rope winding along the stair railing is both decorative and practical: it serves as a hanger for greenery and starfish and adds a nautical touch. It’s a good reminder to consider unexpected materials when decorating for the holidays.

A simple vase of branches beside the bed, hung with a few beach-themed ornaments, adds a soft, festive touch. Paired with a glass lamp, this arrangement feels understated and elegant.

Pops of red create striking focal points: a wreath in the window, ornaments dangling from a chandelier, and red cloths draped over chair backs. These accents brighten the neutral coastal palette and make the tabletop centerpiece really stand out.

These small trees look like gumdrop trees at first glance, but they’re made from dyed shells. They’re a charming and creative alternative to traditional mini trees and add to the seaside theme.

Adding starfish and shells to wreaths or door greenery gives a fresh coastal twist to traditional holiday décor. I love the contrast of the pale shells against deep green foliage.
