Muskoka Living Interiors
I’ve been looking through the work of Muskoka Living Interiors and I’m completely taken with their aesthetic. Their rooms pair natural wood with white trim, painted walls and wood ceilings in a way that feels warm, calm and timeless. That combination—natural textures balanced by crisp white surfaces—evokes the comfort of home for me.
The style reads like a refined cottage: simple, elegant, but still relaxed and inviting. It’s not fussy or cluttered, yet it clearly shows thoughtful craftsmanship. There’s a pleasing balance between rustic and refined, with an emphasis on materials and textures rather than ornament. I especially love the abundant natural wood accents paired with white painted wood—this is the kind of home that feels lived-in and well-loved.
I’m drawing on many of these same elements as I update my own house, bringing familiar materials and arrangements into spaces that fit this home’s scale and personality. My kitchen is finished and already feels like a significant step toward making this place my own, but I also enjoy that there’s plenty more to do. Staying in one house lets you evolve it over time—small improvements add up and keep the house feeling fresh.
I pulled together a selection of rooms from Muskoka Living Interiors that I especially admired. There are many more beautiful spaces in their portfolio; these images capture the warm wood tones, bright light, and thoughtful detailing that define the look. Enjoy the photos and consider how some of these ideas might translate into your own home.

Those rain chains, copper gutters, and this porch illustration really highlight the attention to detail in exterior finishes—simple elements that make a big visual impact.
