Reading the Christmas story and arranging a nativity set have always been cherished parts of our family’s holiday tradition, starting when the children were very small. My husband even made a cardboard version for them to play with when they were toddlers, and they absolutely adored it.
This year I decided to pass our original nativity on to our daughter Courtney and her husband so they can continue the tradition in their home. Even as empty nesters, sharing this meaningful piece of our family history keeps the spirit of the season alive for all of us.

A follower on Instagram recently spotted a charming blue and white nativity set and sent me a link. I was instantly taken with its delicate design and the sweet little animals—the camel and tiny sheep especially captured my heart. I thought it would be perfect for our new home.
This Christmas we’ll honor the season’s meaning and our family tradition by displaying this new nativity in the main room, where it can be admired and enjoyed each day. Its classic blue-and-white palette gives it a timeless look that blends well with many styles of holiday decor.
Do you set up a nativity scene at Christmas? What traditions are most meaningful to your family? I’d love to hear—send me a message on Instagram!
