In the last year or two we’ve painted nearly every main room in the house: the living room, dining room, a bathroom, the hallway and, most recently, my home office. This has truly been the year of painting and home projects for me. With each room refreshed, my home is finally feeling more cohesive and comfortable.

The right paint colors transform a space—both its look and its atmosphere. Before-and-after photos are so satisfying to see because they show the immediate impact of color and small design choices.

This summer we’ve tackled multiple areas: the kitchen, bedroom, a guest room, family rooms, the powder room, pantry, entry and more. The collage above captures just a handful of those projects and the state many rooms were in mid-renovation. It was chaotic, but the chaos was productive.

Although those before and in-progress photos look messy, most of the rooms are now closer to finished—and looking pretty—than they were before. Perseverance is paying off, and I’ll be sharing more complete before-and-after reveals very soon.
I can’t wait to show you the after photos of the rooms I’ve been working on. If you enjoy paint transformations and room makeovers, you’ll love seeing the final results and the color choices that brought each space to life.
One site I contribute to, My Colortopia, recently launched a “Show Your Colors” gallery featuring reader-submitted before-and-after photos. This gallery highlights real projects, showcases inspiring color combinations, and helps other homeowners visualize how paint can change a room. It’s a great place to display your finished spaces and to discover new ideas.
I’ll be uploading my own projects to the Show Your Colors gallery soon, and I encourage you to share your transformations too. Seeing fellow readers’ work is inspiring, and it creates a helpful resource for anyone planning to repaint or refresh a room.
I received Glidden® brand paint in support of these projects. The opinions and descriptions here are my own and reflect my genuine experience using the products.
