I love round mirrors. Many rooms are filled with rectangles and squares, so a round mirror softens the space and adds visual interest.
Recently I added a large, quirky round wood ship-portal–style mirror to our kitchen. It makes a bold statement and brings a playful, rustic texture that I absolutely adore. The piece feels like a creative blend of a modern sunburst mirror and a coastal portal mirror, and it ended up being even more charming than I expected.
I worried at first that it might dominate the room, but it became a strong focal point in the best way. Often we choose small, safe accessories; a single memorable piece can transform a room. The rustic wood echoes the wood floors and contrasts nicely with the sleek white quartz countertops. The circular shape is the perfect finishing touch in a space full of rectangles.

I’m holding back some photos because the full kitchen reveal is coming soon, and I want to save a few angles for that big moment. I will share new light fixtures before the reveal, though—so stay tuned. You’ve been patient throughout the kitchen updates, and I’ve been showing the new additions as they happen. Seeing the entire room together will give a much clearer sense of how the style flows and how the space feels from every angle. My goal is to create a cohesive home that’s comfortable and beautiful, not just a pretty corner for a photograph.
Speaking of round mirrors, I’ve added a couple more over the past year. One hangs above my bed, and another new favorite is in our powder room—I’ll be revealing that makeover soon. The powder room turned out so cute, and I’m thrilled to have it finished.
Also? I’m pretty happy to see tulips again. Aren’t you? Spring IS on its way.
The rustic round wood mirror in this post came from a home decor shop called Lulu & Georgia. This mirror was provided to The Inspired Room in exchange for a blog mention; my opinions and decorating choices are my own.
