Snow Days Are Wonderful
There’s something special about those unexpected, quiet days when snow keeps you safely at home. When your usual busy schedule pauses and the world outside is muffled by white, the day takes on a peaceful, almost magical quality.
For someone with a full calendar most of the time, a snow day is a rare gift. Stress eases, obligations fade, and everyday hurry gives way to simple pleasures.
Suddenly there’s time for baking, for wrapping up in a blanket and watching snowflakes fall, or for bundling up and going out to sled. A nap by the fire feels perfectly justified. Even the small act of catching snow on your tongue brings a childlike joy.
On a snow day it’s hard to feel down. The quiet comfort and small delights make it easy to let go of worries and simply be present. That shift in mood is what makes these days feel “awesome”—relaxed, restorative, and a little bit playful.
I spotted this sign at House of Hepworths and immediately fell for it. I’d love to have one of my own.
We’re still snowed in, and I suspect Thursday will be another peaceful, not-sad, pretty awesome day.
