Readers’ Favorite Decorating Blog 2015 — Better Homes & Gardens

The Inspired Room Kitchen Remodel

There’s some wonderful news I haven’t yet shared: my blog, The Inspired Room, was voted the Readers’ Favorite Decorating Blog by Better Homes & Gardens for the second consecutive year. Winning in both 2014 and 2015 is truly an honor. I’m deeply grateful for this recognition and for the continued support from readers.

When I won the first year I worried it might be a fluke, so to be chosen again was both surprising and incredibly meaningful. Your votes and encouragement make the time I spend creating this blog something I look forward to each day. If I could thank every reader in person, I’d invite you all over for coffee in my kitchen. We’d sit around, sip from oversized mugs, enjoy conversation, and let Jack the goldendoodle keep us entertained. Those moments of connection — even imagined ones — are why I love sharing this space.

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” — C.S. Lewis

I want to say a heartfelt thank you for making this blog a joy to create. Your readership, thoughtful comments, and enthusiasm for the topics we cover—home decorating, simple improvements, and everyday inspiration—are what keep me motivated. I’m also grateful for your support of my book and for celebrating the blog with me through this award. It means more than words can express.

The photo above shows my kitchen, as featured in Better Homes & Gardens. It’s a space I love to share because it represents the kind of comfortable, lived-in style I hope inspires readers to create in their own homes. Decorating, for me, is about making places feel welcoming and personal, not about perfection.

Winning this award two years in a row is a reminder that small, consistent efforts add up. Whether you’re revisiting old posts, trying a new paint color, rearranging furniture, or simply reading along with your morning coffee, you’re part of this community. I appreciate every vote, every comment, and every moment you spend here.

I promised I wouldn’t let this recognition change me, and I mean it. The blog will continue to focus on approachable decorating ideas, honest reflections, and practical tips. My goal is always to share inspiration that feels achievable and meaningful, so you can love the home you have and make it your own.

Thank you again for your trust and encouragement. I’m humbled by this honor and excited to keep sharing projects, thoughts, and small celebrations with you. Your support makes the creative process rewarding, and I’m grateful to have such a thoughtful and engaged community.
