Yesterday felt like an ordinary day until a photographer and photo stylist from Better Homes & Gardens arrived at our home to shoot a full feature on our kitchen remodel. Having a team from such a well-known magazine photograph our kitchen was surreal and incredibly exciting.
The visit was a highlight after all the work we put into renovating the space. The stylist and photographer spent the day carefully arranging details and capturing the kitchen from multiple angles. Watching them work was fascinating — they brought a clear vision and an eye for composition that transformed ordinary corners into magazine-ready vignettes.
I’ll save most of the details and additional photos for the magazine’s feature — likely published in February — but I wanted to share how enjoyable the experience was. The team was professional, creative, and respectful of our home. It was a genuinely fun and memorable day, and I’m very grateful to Better Homes & Gardens for the opportunity.
The stylist, Michael Walters, and the photographer, John Granen, did an outstanding job. Their attention to light, texture, and styling choices produced truly beautiful images. I’m thrilled with how everything came together and can’t wait for the official photos to be published so you can see the finished results.
While I won’t reveal the specific styling used in the magazine spread until it’s released, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the team in action during the shoot. These snapshots capture the energy of the day and offer a peek at the process behind the polished images that will appear in print.

Update: You can now see the sneak peek of my BHG feature in this post from November 2014 (Better Homes & Gardens kitchen feature).
