Autumn Steps: How to Fall Gracefully in the Entryway

Striped Gray and White Entry Wall - The Inspired Room
It’s that time of year again. (Don’t worry if the end of summer makes you a little dramatic — there’s still plenty of warm weather left.) I look forward to this moment every season; it has become our little pre-fall ritual. Do you see them on my entry table? The plush pumpkins are back, quietly announcing that the cozy season is on its way. Yes, it really is time to ease the house into fall with these soft, inviting pumpkins.

They sit there, plump and plush, tempting you to pick them up and give them a little squeeze as you pass. This year’s collection feels a touch more sophisticated, dressed in metallic chevron linen and silvery shimmer. I haven’t seen many soft pumpkins as lovely as these — their quality is noticeable and they have a satisfying weight to them.

If you’re curious about the striped wall, you can find the painting instructions on my striped wall post. Details about the hardwood floors are available in the hardwood flooring post. The table in these photos was found at a flea market — I shared that story in an earlier decorating post. The little bench is from Target, and the tray holding the pumpkins came from Mary & Martha.

What happy thought comes to mind when you hear the word FALL?
