Refreshing Green Juice Recipe for Energy and Detox

Healthy Green Juice Recipe for St Patrick's Day

HHello! We’re Kylee and Courtney, Melissa’s daughters, and today we’re sharing a simple, refreshing green juice recipe. We’ve had a juicer for years but recently started using it more often. We love discovering healthy, easy recipes, and with St. Patrick’s Day approaching we turned our latest juicing session into a sister juicing party. It was fun, healthy, and delicious.

Green Juice Ingredients for St Patricks Day

What you’ll need:

  • 3 apples
  • 5 kale leaves (remove thick stems if present)
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 large handful of spinach
  • About 1 inch of peeled ginger (or a drop of ginger essential oil if preferred)
  • 1/2 peeled lemon (reserve the other half for squeezing into glasses)
  • A juicer

*This yields about two tall glasses of juice.

Directions:

  1. Wash all produce thoroughly.
  2. Cut the apples and cucumber into thirds so they fit easily into your juicer chute.
  3. Peel the lemon and only add half to the juicer; save the other half to squeeze into the finished glasses for extra brightness.
  4. Feed the apples, kale leaves (without thick stems), cucumber, spinach, and ginger into the juicer in any order—you don’t need a strict sequence. Let the machine do the work.
  5. Stir the juice and taste; add a splash of reserved lemon if you want more tartness. Serve over ice if desired.

This green juice is crisp, vibrant, and truly tastes like a glass of healthy goodness. The natural sweetness of the apples balances the greens and ginger, making it both refreshing and satisfying. It’s quick to make and perfect for a bright morning boost or a healthy pick-me-up on St. Patrick’s Day.

Notes and tips:

  • If your kale has thick stems, remove them and juice only the leaves to avoid bitterness and tough fibers.
  • Adjust ginger to taste—start with about an inch and reduce if you prefer a milder spice.
  • If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend everything with a little water and strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth for a similar result.

Disclaimer: Be careful when handling glasses and juice near countertops—spills happen. We had a little mishap during our shoot, and while we avoided shattered glass, we still had a green juice spill to clean up. It’s part of the fun and a reminder to relax and enjoy the process.
