We don’t usually decorate extensively for Halloween, but being new to the neighborhood we thought a simple banner would be a friendly way to let kids and parents know our porch is open for treats.
Banners are a simple, seasonal decorating solution
Banners are ideal for small spaces because they add festive charm without occupying porch, mantel, or wall space. They fold flat for easy storage, so you can tuck them away until next year and bring them out again with minimal fuss.

I found a cute “Trick or Treat” burlap banner that worked perfectly for our porch.

Use versatile containers like baskets for seasonal flair
Baskets and similar containers are practical year-round pieces. Instead of buying separate seasonal items, use the same container and swap in seasonal foliage, pumpkins, or ornaments. It’s an economical approach that keeps your entryway looking welcoming and coordinated.
We added a door basket and styled it with a few fall touches to complement the banner.
Will kids go trick-or-treating in your neighborhood? I’m not sure about ours, but if they don’t, I’ll happily enjoy the leftover Reese’s peanut butter cups myself.
