It’s been a busy, rewarding week at The Inspired Room headquarters—my everyday life. I’m steadily moving toward the finish line on my office makeover: just a few small pieces remain and then I’ll call it complete. The space feels personal and lively, and it almost makes me giddy. I can’t wait to invite you in to see it soon. In the collage you can spot a few of the new items I’ve brought into the room.
On a less glamorous note, I managed to lock myself out of the house for an entire afternoon. No phone, no wallet (my phone was in my office—of course). I took a walk, pulled weeds and eventually found myself playing in the tiny fairy garden I’ve been meaning to replant this spring. With limited supplies I could only scavenge a few stray succulents from the yard, but tweaking the little scene was surprisingly satisfying. It’s a start.
Our church building has gradually become a weekend hub for local bands, turning into an all-ages concert space. It’s wonderful to welcome the community and share the venue. In the collage you’ll even see some guys playing ping pong in the lower level. We’re still decorating and repairing the building on a strict budget, but it’s been a fun, creative project—I’ll share more photos as we make progress.
And of course, Jack kept us entertained all week. True to form, he found mischief—he even chewed up my debit card, which was less than ideal. To help him burn off energy this summer, we fenced in the backyard, and the project is nearly finished. We’re thrilled to have a safe space for him to run and play. The collage also shows our yard’s need for landscaping—one of the new-house challenges—but for now Jack can enjoy the sunshine and freedom. He also had his teeth brushed and indulged in several naps on his favorite ottoman. It truly is a dog’s life.
