Are you finding yourself playing more board games lately? One welcome perk of spending more time at home has been the return of family game nights after dinner.
We received the game pictured above as a gift last year and it has become a household favorite. It’s easy to learn, offers real strategy, and everyone enjoys it. If you’re hoping to get it for the holidays, it may still be available.

Another long-running favorite in our home is what we call “the marble game” (also known as Aggravation or Agitation). That game has been part of our family tradition for 25 years and started when our children were little because it’s suitable for all ages. It’s perfect for gathering around the table and playing together.

The game shown here is another top pick for us: simple to teach but rich in strategy. It’s one of those games that keeps everyone engaged and sparks friendly competition.

My parents recently bought a wooden Scrabble board, which my mom loves because it doubles as decor in her living room. If you plan to keep a game out on display, choosing an attractive board can make a difference. We also enjoy classic Monopoly and other timeless family games.
UPDATE 2021: For more recommendations, my daughter Courtney hosted an Amazon Live video showcasing additional family favorites, including newer card games and fresh ideas to expand your collection.
