I love decorating my home as the seasons change. I don’t rely on heavy, themed décor, but I do enjoy making rooms feel cozy in the cooler months and brighter for spring and summer. Having a neutral foundation—paint colors, rugs, and key furniture—lets me switch out smaller accessories to create a fresh, seasonal look. I keep things simple year-round, but I also appreciate the small chance each season gives me to rearrange and refresh.
Most of the time I use pieces I already own, add seasonal greenery, and move items around until the space feels right for the time of year. A few simple swaps or new arrangements are all it takes to create a different mood.
Here’s a look at my kitchen coffee station through several seasons. You’ll notice the same foundational pieces reappearing—cutting boards, a mug holder and a few neutral vessels—but styled differently each time. Seasonal touches like colored books, fresh greenery, or small handmade accents help signal the change in season without overhauling the whole space.
I try not to buy new holiday decor every year. For example, the simple DIY Peace Banner I made appears on the same shelf for several Christmas seasons, proving that a few well-chosen items can work repeatedly and still feel special.

For years I’ve run an online shop for The Inspired Room. Recently we’ve been reorganizing and refreshing it so it’s easier to browse. Because the shop had become quite full, we created smaller, themed shops that group favorite furniture, lighting, and décor into curated collections. This makes it simpler to find items that fit a particular style or room.
We also enjoyed pulling together these collections by exploring a range of sources and selecting pieces we love. The result is a cleaner, more organized shop with thoughtfully arranged selections meant to inspire and make shopping more enjoyable.
