As I begin shaping how this home will come together, I’ve been thinking about color and how the pieces we already own might evolve to suit the new space. I love the colors I have, but each house seems to respond to its own palette—tones that naturally enhance its mood and atmosphere. Exploring which hues belong here has been a fun part of the process.
Although I don’t usually decorate with pink, a soft coral-pink has long been one of my favorites. I don’t have immediate plans to introduce it throughout the house, but that doesn’t mean pink won’t make an appearance. Cut pink tulips, peonies, and small pink accents are always welcome. My husband isn’t particularly fond of pink, but used sparingly it can be a lovely, balanced touch.
My decorating decisions are still evolving, and I’ve already decided to add one unexpected color to the home—one I haven’t used before. It’s not pink, but it feels right for this house and for the way I want our rooms to feel. I enjoy decorating because it’s a chance to grow and adapt my style as new inspirations appear each season.
Since it’s February and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to round up some pink decorating inspiration today. Pink can be fresh, subtle, romantic, or modern depending on how it’s used, and these images show small, approachable ways to add that gentle color without overwhelming a space.
Enjoy, and happy February!
