Why I Embrace Life as a Proud Homebody

Have you been called a homebody? Here's my definition (and spoiler alert, it's a compliment!)

I am a homebody. Maybe you are one, too. In my book Dwelling I describe what I mean by the term: a homebody is someone who delights in the simple, nourishing activities that happen at home. It isn’t about hiding away or avoiding life; it’s about creating a place where you become whole.

Why being called a homebody is a compliment!
Quote from my book Dwelling

As an introvert and a creative, I genuinely love being at home. It’s where I refill my cup—both literally, with morning coffee rituals, and figuratively, by resting, creating, and savoring small pleasures.

There’s a strong link between the condition of our homes and how we feel physically and emotionally. A thoughtful, comfortable space supports rest, creativity, and well-being.

That connection is why I’ve embraced the word “homebody” for my life and for the brand. To me, being a homebody means caring for the atmosphere of your home because it directly affects your mood and health.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to join The HomeBody House, a HomeBody Gathering Place membership where we focus on feeling our best at home. It’s not only about decorating; it’s about paying attention to how a space supports your life.

The HomeBody House is more than decorating tips—it’s a community and a collection of methods to help you feel nurtured in your home, with resources and practices tailored for HomeBodies.
